catched the morning flight to auckland by jet star. bought the tickets 2 days ago, quite a hefty sum. bye bye queenstown. as we reached auckland, the weather was pretty bad. raining! got back and taliz brought us to a shop near her place. ooh and met w RB. been a few years since we last seen each other. He's all grown up and very big too, 19 years old. its too bad that the regulation is for above 20 years.
so the day after we got back to auckland we went to Rotorua. famous for their mud thermal spring. bad the weather was bad so we didnt manage to see much. it was a 3 hour drive to rotorua. passed a lot of cows along the way. after rotorua we head off to hamilton to stay over night. and we got lost along the way to nida's place. we didnt get to see where they shot the hobits house in lord of the rings.
got back to auckland at around 2 pm and went to north island. unc benji got a basketball game as we hit the mall. a bit of a drive from their place. well not so interesting. catch ya soon....

day 6 NZ - Queenstown last day
its patricks day off today. so he drove us around with dorai. todays itinerary: cherry picking at cromwell and jet boat at lake wakatipu. So we had breakfast at thaitani a thai restaurant in queentown. the servings were quite big. enough for 2. and we over ordered. I had the eggs benedict with salmon and cheese toast. Yummy! they even had coconut juice. didnt expect them to have it in queenstown. then after bfast we went to cromwell about 30 minutes drive. went to pick some cherries. there were a lot of cherry trees at the farm. tried some dried kiwis and strawberries at the farm. i prefer the fresh ones though. we were done at 2pm. so we rushed back to town to catch our reserved jet ride at 3pm. but unfortunately, we were late, then had to rebooked for the 4 pm ride. while waiting they decided to have some ice cream. i opted not to have one as i was a bit nervous for the ride. heard it will be faster than the other day. so i better not eat anything. 5 of us were suppose to be going on the ride but it ended up with the two of us, ninay and i. felt pretty good after the first spin, it was fast and harder. so about 30 mins on, i started to feel a bit woosy. my forehead started to build some sweats and i felt hot. i kept quite the rest of the way hoping my stomach will stay at bay. lucky enough after several more spins we headed back to dock. at one point i could have sworn that the boat didnt move. thank god when it stopped. my pants got wet, not dat i peed myself but of the cold sweat. and my hair fot all tangled up. so after the ride we went to the casino. i had a coke to get the air out of my tummy. and i found out from dorai that walter and patrick hurled after the ride last time. huh, after hearing that i felt a bit better and proud of myself. comparing myself with the 2 guys and 1 of which is a big dude. so at the casino i spent about 20 minutes just to fix my hair back. then had some fish and chips at a small shack near the lake. very fresh, reminds me of UK. since it was our last night in queenstown, they decided to have BBQ and a karaoke at their home. very entertaining by the time we went to bed it was almost 2 am.
i had a very good time in queenstown. i hope to visit during winter and do some extreme sports or ski next time. a shout out to my cousins for bringing us around and taking the time off work. a very special place with unexpected beauty.

day 5 NZ - Queenstown to milford sound
decided to take the milford sound tour. a very long bus ride to our destination. told that the whole trip will take about 12.5 hours. approx 5 hours bus ride 2 hour cruise and another 5 hrs back to town. luckily we stoppped a couple of times to take some photos and to stretch our legs. at least the bus was big and new. Im glad we took the front see. as the round to milford sound went on like a snake. we stopped at te anau, the chasm and the mirror lakes. lovely postcard type photos. as we reached milford port. we were ushered to the cruiser. not that big but comfortable enough for a 2 hour cruise. highlight of the day> saw some wild dolphins and lazy seals sunbathing on the rock. Milford sound is famous for its waterfalls, i think there are 3 falls running all the time but the number increases if it rains. we had lunch on board and took A LOT of photos. i slept the whole way back bcos i started to feel dizzy. we reached queenstown at 8 pm. had a delicious dinner at dorai's place. although the day was tiring but i think it was worth the journey. fell asleep while watching 50 first dates. may be tommorrow we'll stay around town and keep it simple.

day 4 NZ trip - Queenstown to cromwel and wanaka
off to wanaka to visit the lake where uncle pats ashes were scattered. It took us about 1.5 hours by car to reach there. ohh, i drove, we used crawfords peak to go to wanaka, really scary as the road was winding and very high. it is the highest road in New zealand so its an acievement by itself. we stopped about 3 times to take some pictures overlooking the city. lovely postcard photos. finally arrived wanaka about 12 noon, so we went to the lake for a while then off to the puzzling world, a famous tourist spot. we tallied back a t about 3 pm after having fish and chips on the grass near the lake. My first time to actually do anything like it in my life.
on our way back we stopped at cromwell to buy some cherries. they were big and sweet. so we finally reached our hotel at about 4.30pm. we relaxed for a bit, and went to town to do some shopping. but the rain started to fall and went back to the hotel instead. at night we went to "ONSEN" a lovely hot water bath style spa. stayed for about 1.5 hours overlooking the mountain and river. the amazing part was that we could open the window. the view was fantastic and a thought came to mind how this would look like in winter with it all white. WOW! we finally got back at 11pm... one thing about this trip in queenstown is that you're spoilt for choices. whether it is adventure, knowledge or pure adrenaline. there's everything for everyone. i can't imagine the atmosphere here during the winter season. anyway, catch you again next time.

day 3 NZ trip - Queenstown
our second day in queenstown. very packed. morning we were picked up by the tour operator to skippers canyon for our jet boat ride. weather in the morning was gloomy/raining. wasnt a good day for adventure. nevertheless it didnt stop us. the bus ride to our destination was very scary. as we had to go up the very steep and winding mountain. luckily the bus driver was good as he glided effortlessly up it. noting that the road up the mountain is one way traffic. i could see the edge and afraid of my life. it took us about 40 mins to reach the river, still drizzling. then we put on our waterproof jackets and life vest. seated on the second row. after the safety briefing we were off. SCARY the boat driver did a 360 degree turn in a small river at a very fast speed. terrifying but FUN. as the boat increased its speed my face started to hurt. the rain felt like needles to my face. OUCH! again with the 360 turn and zig zag between the mountains. with rain to my hair and the water splashing to my face we were drenched but refreshed. after a while we headed back to the starting. it was an experience i could never forget. simply AMAZING, the environment is just one of its kind. then after the ride we went further up the mountain to the bungy site. so as i was walking the planks my heart was racing and the nerves started to kick in. so in the middle of the bridge and looking down was scary. i could feel the bridge started to swing frantically. so with nerves held and subsided a bit i took the plunge. it s nothing i can ever imagine, as i didnt have the nerve to do it. Gotcha! thought i would actually do a bungee. R u out of ur mind? i went to the middle but never did i have the nerve to jump. i thought about it but no. hahah. maybe next time.
then at noon we went to the cheese farm and winery. it was about 50 minutes drive from where we were staying. tasting a lot of different cheeses very nice and see how the wine process is done. afterwards had a lovely picnic. with the cheeses and biscuits outside under a tree enjoying the scenery. on our way back we stopped at the Bungy, where the first bungy site built. lucky enough we were on time to see someone plunge to their death... not.. landed and touched the river.
so after all that, it was already 6 when we reached the hotel. went off to town to have dinner at a lovely pizza place. lovely pizza, ice cream from the chocolate place and pasta. didnt manage to finish the food as we were tired.
dats all for now, catch u all later...

Day 2 NZ - Queenstown: natures beauty at its finest!
flew to queenstown to visit my cuzs. Have not seen them for like forever. it was an early flight at 7.30am. it took us 2 hours to reach queenstown. stepping out of the plane was an experience not to be forgotten. the first sight you see were the mountains that was featured in Lord of the rings. it was AMAZING! i have not seen anything like it in my life. well we were met by dorai and family at the airport. the weather was cooler than auckland. looking at the scenery, was beautiful. it's like looking at a poster of some sorts. the whole town is all like that. you never get tired of all the mountains and lake. just unbelievable. Plus i didnt know Queenstown has so much to offer not only skiing, but its outdoor activities are extensive. from bungy to cruising the lakes to tracking.
we had lunch at the top of the mountain. the only way up is to take the gondola up. had the seafood buffet overlooking the city and with the lake as a background. after lunch we went further up. the transport was a little bit scarier than the first haul. your legs are practically hanging and only the rail as your safety. then we took the luge, some kind of go-cart down the mountain. it was my first time, was a little bit terrified bcos im afraid of heights. nevertheless, it was the only way down. tapi siok.
in the afternoon we went to Arrow Town. one of the oldest settlements here in NZ. nothing much to see. but theres a lovely stretch of old shops dated back to the 1800's. Nice.
we checked-in at a cute holidau park, kinda like a B&B with your own kitchenette and all. Plus it was just walking distance to the town. Oh, the town. small but well equipped. very modern didnt expect NZ to be like this.
catch you again next time.. hopefully i can upload the pictures with the commentary..

pre NZ trip 10.12.2010
alright i'm finally going to NZ. Have been planning for this since June 2010. Can't wait to meet my tita Liza, Unc Benji, Vanjo and the rest. Have not seen them for awhile now. Time to catch up and do some sight seeing. Maybe we'll go to Queenstown. Where you ask? its where they shot the Lord of the ring. Its a few hours from auckland. So we'll see. I promise myself that i'll try to get some pictures of NZ and post it on my blog. If you notice i dont really have any pictures. all words. honestly i don really know how to upload and frankly i'm just too lazy to learn and plus its too slow. Kudos to those bloggers who does it.
i have just finished packing. didnt bring much clothes. figured i'll buy some shirts there, so why waste the kilos. not forgetting my green tea and puzzle for the long flight. if i ever get bored of the on-board channels. Its a 9 hour flight people. be ready than get bored. Since its a morning flight, i dont think i'll get much sleep on the plane. oohh another thing to worry is the time difference. NZ is about 5 hours ahead of us. So hopefully i wont be affected.
dats enough talk for now. so until next time. may be a picture or two if i can figure it out....

Finally got it to work!
Been away for awhile. So what's been happening in my life? well, first of all, i have resigned and now in the unemployed category. why u might ask? too many reasons. in short, TO FIND MYSELF! if you don't agree, tough. since i have all the time in the world now. have done a LOT of traveling. Practically every month. The low down visited Milan, Florence, Pisa, Sardinia, Genoa in just 2 weeks. Had fun. Singapore Then off to Philippines the week after. then to KK. And now to New Zealand.
With all the funfare, i am yet to decide what im gonna do next. I know there's something i'm meant to do in life. Figuring it out, is the hardest part. You might think after all this time i would know wat i'm suppose to do. Well dats totally wrong. im lucky enough i'm given the chance to explore this. some people have no choice but to be stuck where they are. So i owe it to myself to really try hard and resolve this. and FAST!
well dats all for now... catch you all next time

working tonite... tommorrow FUN FUN FUN!
Even though i'll be working tonite, more specifically 10pm til 3am. You might ask yourself, wat would i be doing? Well, some testing and stuff, i dun really know til i get there. I was not forced to but instead volunteered. So biar kan tia, i won't sleep tonight d aeroplane saja. My GOD, the total flight time is terrifying. SOO lama and a lot of waiting. Never mind. The important thing in mind is I AM GOING TO U.S. TO ENJOY HAHAHAHA..
Just finished packing. I think i have everything. Checked online, the weather is about 10 degrees celcius. So might be a little bit chilly. I think i left some of my thicker shirts in uk with Suzz. Oh well, If inda cukup, will just have to buy there. All thats left to bali is some contact lenses and if ada masa gunting rambut which i so malas. Can i just cut it myself, biar tia not even, just say its the 'Style' now. Yeah dats a thought, might actually do it for real.
Passport check, ticket check, and THE most important thing for this trip are my credit cards, a definite check!!!!
So for now, ciao bella. Will try to do an update on our trip if ada free time.
San Francisco + Hot springs + Viva LAs vegas... here we come... WOOOHOOO

Counting days to ....
Yay, roughly 7 more days till we fly off to the great state of America. More specifically, San Fo and Hot springs. Never been to hot springs before. through the web, looks as though its a little bit country or 'kampong' like. But might be fun. kalau inda pun, a road trip is never out of the question. oh dat reminds me to endorse my drivers license. i still can't imagine the long flight time. More than 24 hours including all the connecting flights. Hmmm, so, some of the 'must have' items in my hand carry bag are spare underwear, shirt, my favourite crossword and a reading book. But im so glad that were taking Singapore airlines for this haul. At least the entertainment system is reliable. Bukan macam RBA, which is SO unpredictable. What else? apa lagi kan d bawa ah?

Lets celebrate "World Health Day" 2010 .....
Well, i thought i would just share with you all what this day mean to the whole world. Its "world health day". more importantly, this is the day where we ought to create “awareness on a specific health theme to highlight a priority area of concern". For 2010 its to be part of a global movement to make CITIES HEALTHIER. Thats right people you read it right. We all know we live in a busy world, living in a polluted filled atmosphere. So to those of you who care enough for our planet, lets be more thoughtful today onwards. Recycle, carpool (if possible) and walk more, not only its good for the air but for your health too. be the one to initiate then others may follow. Leading by example is the way to greatness. Get with the program people!

Finally, wedding daze is over. Last night was very nice. especially enjoyed the performances, and kudos to Suzz for the surprise number. umrah trip pt 2
well after about 5 days in Medinah, now we're off to Mekah. So its a 5 hour journey. all in our ihrams, reached kota Mekah roughly 8.45pm then to the hotel. Had dinner, then to our rooms to freshen up. So we gathered to perform tawaf and saie at 10.15pm. was very excited to see the actual kabah in 2 years. OOh and the zam zam was excellent, sajuk and couldnt get enough of it. Papa had to use the wheelchair bcos of his condition. so he was done faster. Ayman got tired during the 5th saie, sakit kaki nya. kesian jua. his cheeks turned very red sampai subuh.. so we all got back the hotel at around 1 ish am. the room is fitted with a stereo especially for azan. so we were surprise to hear the subuh azan going in the room. hahha baru jua tidur nasib ada speaker if not, i dont think we would have known its subuh.
so its the new hotel, not as glam as people say it is. the finishings very poor. hotel baru but banyak mould on the walls. how can that be??? one things for sure, never ending hotel guests. always full. oohh ate hardees AGAIN nyaman.
we were busy looking for a good spot for every waktu. Mau jua nampak kabah time sembahyang, so we had to jalan to the opposite side to get a good place. one time during zuhur, we sembahyang sunat undur the sun arah d marble floor. hahah it was soo hot but the kabah was right in front of us. and we took some pictures tooo..
to be continued...

what happened - umrah trip pt1
didnt realize the flight to Jeddah takes about 9 hours plus. Thought it was only 4 - 5 hours. Slept all the way to Jeddah. Once we landed Jeddah, it was another 7 hours by bus to Medinah. OOuchhhh... Weather wise upon our arrival, roughly 25 degrees celcius. It was cooler during subuh when we stopped at one of the service station for solat. in all honesty, the bus could have been a lot better. we reached medinah at 9am, got our room keys and settled in. all of us were on the same floor just next to each other. so you can imagine how noisy it can be.
how different it was compared to Hajj. the moment we entered masjid nabawi to the queue at raudah. it was so peacefully very relaxed. we could take our time to pray and doa. i think almost everyday we visited raudah, alhamdulillah. it got a little bit crowded the week of maulud nabi. i think it was also a school holiday in medinah and the umrah visit was open for public, so people from indonesia and malaysia started to arrive in groups.
well our typical day is to go for solat subuh, then breakfast. not all the shops are not open till after asar. so we just strolled around and bought things whenever we see somthing good. Food was everywhere, shawarmas to burgers. Wow the Portobello melt was amazing. yummy. im not a meat lover but this burger was absolutely delicious. u should all try it if you ever get a chance to buy from Hardees. well my main staple food was corn in a cup. never miss a day. hahah.. maybe dats why i go to the loo almost every waktu. and plus the air zam zam helped. ooh dats another routine we have. upon entering the mosque minum zam zam then just before walking out another cup. yummy, and refreshing.
we did some visits while we were in medinah, the gunung gunung and etc. and then bought some kurma. Kurma Nabi was the nicest among all. Papas 73rd birthday was on the 21st February. we didnt know what to buy. inda lain parfum but we wanted sumthin different. so after a while, we noticed the specially designed canes at some jewellery shops. we bought him one of those with little pearl and silver inlays on the cane. It took us 3 days to go back and forth as the shop was not open for some reason. we also got him a gold woven ayat carpet. very nice indeed. Nasib jua he liked both of the gifts.
so after 5 days in medinah, next is to Mekah...

last minute things
its always been like this. last minute packing gives me such a rush. i keep thinking if i have left anything out. underwear, check. toiletries, check. pants, check. etc etc. i cant find my itouch. where could it be??? oh that reminds me, need to buy a book and some crossword puzzle for my in-flight entertainment. hmm wat else??
i still dunno what shoes to wear for the trip. do i need to wear socks? maybe the thin type.
i cant wait to see the ka'abah again. i still remember the haj, it drew tears to my eyes. yes, tarus tarus keluar sendiri, it was soo emotional. lama sudah, probably almost ten years since the last trip to mekah. Siok. and now we'll be staying at zam zam which is practically within the compond of masjid al haram. less than a minute walk to the entrance. lapas all the saie and tawaf dapat makan starbucks or burger king. rosak diet ku ni.
well another update once im back or will do one if i get access there. who knows ada internet connection, but doubt it. ciao people and assalamualaikum..

Did u know...
todays topic - HIV and AIDS. Did you know dat in Brunei, there are about more than 30 people infected with HIV or AIDS. The number of people infected has increased every year. having said this, we must not Discriminate. It is wrong to think that you can contract this disease by simply kissing, yes this is true if you drink 8 gallons of saliva. its also false to think that a mosquito bite gives u HIV or AIDs.
for those of you (the boys) who goes to kadai gunting indian, please take extra precaution with the blade they use when shaving. Remember to ask for a 'new blade' or ask if its sterilised. this is the same for the razor blades at home. Please do not share. even if the person is ur spouse or ur child. one nick of blood can be life changing.
So in short, everyone has the right to live or work. treat anyone fairly and be careful in life....

my daily update..
another day has past..
WORK> though the traffic was slow at the office but thought today was quite gruelling, mentally that is. had to clear some of the pending documents.. as usual had to deal one fussy customer AGAIN. Its been a while when i am not called out to handle a complaint. But glad its resolved.
FOOD> Guess what i ate today? How can i refuse my all time favourite food. Chicken rice from thien thien. SO YUMMY! apart from that i was quite good, some fresh fruits throughout the day.. No dinner!
WORKOUT> None yet.. :)
EXPENSES> i think i spend too much on food. Just realised on average i spend about $100 a week at WORK not counting my groceries and other outings. So starting today, im gonna limit my expenditure to $5 a day for food. Not sure if i can stick to this budget. But sure as hell will try. I need to save as much dough as i can within this 3 months.
OTHERS> Never take life seriously. Nobody gets out alive anyway

Nobody gets out alive anyway

going for a healthier lifestyle ...
i promised myself i would change my eating habit and lifestyle. Sad to say it has not gone the way i have planned. i know its early days but yea.. very hard. Todays lunch was very disappointing but DELICIOUS. A cup of garlic rice and quarter piece chicken and a pita chicken is not THE best of lunch menus. HAHAH. but for dinner managed to stick to an apple and green tea.
The hardest part to a healthier lifestyle is fitting an exercise or a physical activity into my already hectic schedule. normal work day satrts at 7.30am to 7.00pm.. Where to fit the time?? before work or after work?? As they say determination is all i need. Haha easy to say but hard to do..

the jerks of the world
Have your ever come across anyone who you thought would be nice and humble. Yes, most people are. But unfortunately i met 2 of them. Never have i met someone who is arrogant, and such an A$$ twice in 2 consecutive days. I was so pissed but all i could do was to hear them out. As they say, it comes with the job! how i wish i could just shut them up. I could feel my cheeks heating up...

SCB - Shared Distribution Team Building
A tough day out, especially on a SUNDAY. A team building activity at Muara Beach. Had to be there before 8.30. unfortunately, the bus from KB and Tutong ran late, so we started at 9.30am instead. A lot of fun activities, and was able to catch up with other colleagues from branches. The weather was cool in the morning but got extremely hot at noon time. Glad the event finished ahead of schedule. Kind of went off my diet, had rice for lunch and MR softy. YUMMY!! Never mind there's always tomorrow.
another day of work....
